President Barack Obama, “Medical Cannabis is between Patient and Prescribing Doctor”

Listen very closely. The audio kind of sucks.

Did President Barack Obama just say that Medical Cannabis is between a patient and a doctor?

On a recent trip to Minnesota at a Town Hall style meeting in Lower Hannah’s Bend Park, President Barack Obama was taking some questions. One woman prompted with a question about Medical Cannabis. Her question was,

“If you can’t legalize marijuana, why can’t we just legalize medical marijuana, to help the people that need it?”

Obama responded:

“Well, you know, a lot of states are making decisions about medical marijuana. As a controlled substance, the issue then is, you know, is it being prescribed by a doctor, as opposed to, you know — well — I’ll — I’ll — I’ll — I’ll leave it at that.”

The President stammered his thoughts about how he thinks it should be a decision between a patient and their prescribing doctor. The next question raised was about the term “ObamaCare.” The President thinks it is a flattering term, because “He Does Care.”

If you do care so much Mr. President, would you please actually show that you care to help me and the other medical cannabis patients in states which allow it’s administration for relief and medical benefits?

I could really use a job.

Pains: Debt Ceiling, Corporate Greed, Healthcare Privatization

After looking up my ZIP+4 code, I wrote a letter to my Congress Person, Representative John Campbell tonight.

On July 26th, 2001, my life drastically changed. The drastic change was becoming physically injured on the job. The hardships I have had to endure are brought upon needlessly by a for-profit insurer of last resort.

I have been waiting over 60 days for authorization from SCIF for an MRI and CT/scan of my cervical spine to determine if there is a crack in my neck and how bad. My surgeon has even managed to squeeze in a vacation in between visiting him twice where he has written a report that has not been made available to me. Here I am screwed. Pissed off. And here I am 10 years later still fighting for my healthcare, unable to win. Sadly depressed. Have I mentioned that I am in pro per? And the WCAB screwed me out of my QME panel with the help of SCIF?

Today in the mail I received a denial letter, which did not include the surgeons reports. Tomorrow on my 10th anniversary I will be sitting in my surgeons office much of the day, where he will write another $1200 report and I will still have to wait months in pain.

I am also planning on stopping by your office tomorrow.

there is no honor in discrimination or violence

The worst pain one should be forced to endure is that of an aging body, growing old over a lifetime of experiences. I am extremely fortunate enough to at the moment live somewhere that the number of known homicides is currently considerably less than the present day of the year. It could be a lot better or worse here. Don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t even be able to venture a guess at the countless acts of discrimination, the intentional attempts, other random intoxicated threats, or acts of violence taking place day to day. But I’m positive it’s too much. Happening way more than we’re willing to admit to. For far too many priceless excuses. To only be forgotten and remembered individually. Words can be said. Actions can be felt. Sometimes people end up dead. But for what? Fortunately overanalyzing linguistics can only actually make your mind bleed through holes in your head when amplified back at higher decibels.
